Trevor Richards

Trevor Richards lives and works in Perth. He was a founding committee member of the Australian Centre for Concrete Art, president from 2005 until 2007, and resigned in 2009. He accepted the invitation to rejoin the AC4CA in 2018. He participated in AC4CA wall projects 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, the silk screen print project, AC4CA 2002-2004, and the following exhibitions: AC4CA 2005 at the Moores Building in Fremantle, AC4CA 2006 at G&A Studios in Sydney, AC4CA 2009 at SNO in Sydney and AC4CA Editions at ParisCONCRET in 2012.
Richards’ practice encompasses painting, sculpture, video, photography and installation. He has exhibited regularly since 1978, holding over 30 solo exhibitions and participating in many group exhibitions. His most recent one person survey exhibition, Roll the Tape, was held at Geraldton Regional Art Gallery in 2019, and he has participated in solo shows in Paris, Sydney and Canberra since 2011. He has also completed artist residencies in Berlin (2018), Paris (2013), Poland (2008) and Basel (1999). His works are held in many public collections, including those of the National Gallery of Australia, Bank Sparkasse Osnabruck (Germany), Daimler Chrysler (Berlin), the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Murdoch University, Art Bank, Edith Cowan University, the University of Western Australia, Western Mining, Fremantle City Council and the private Holmes à Court and Kerry Stokes collections, to name but a few. He has also completed several recent public commissions for: the City of Greater Geraldton, the Mindarie Senior College Sports Hall (2014), the Tessellation Street Project, Beaufort Street (2014), and the PUBLIC street arts festival (2014) as well as the production of a light-based work for the City of Perth Lighthouse Project (2013).
